Ride the Hook

Reimaging an off-the-beaten path neighborhood as an enchanting biking destination

Placemaking Strategy, Visual Identity, Digital Design

Nestled in the far southwest corner of Brooklyn is Red Hook, a neighborhood rich with history and creativity. Although home to many niche shops, art galleries, waterfront parks and food culture, many businesses suffer from a lack of regular patronage due to inadequate transportation to and throughout the area.

Ride the Hook is an initiative designed to improve the economic sustainability of Red Hook. By reframing the neighborhood as an accessible and intriguing biking destination, Ride the Hook aims to increase commercial activity on the Van Brundt main street, as well as to businesses sprinkled off the beaten path throughout Red Hook.
